TANZANIA:KLM partners with M-Pesa

 

Vodacom Tanzania has today announced its new partnership with KLM Royal Dutch Airlines through its M-Pesa payment service, adding to the list of airlines that the leading cellular network company has already partnered with for the same purpose.

This new partnership will enable the airline’s passengers to pay for their tickets, upgrades, excess baggage, change of reservation fee, preferred seats and other services with M-Pesa at any time, thereby making the process more convenient, easy and secure.

This partnership adds to the list of several similar arrangements the giant telecom company has with other airlines including Qatar Airways, Precision Air, Kenya Airways, Air Tanzania, Fast Jet, Eagle Air and Auric Air.

According to KLM Royal Dutch Airlines Country Manager for Tanzania, Sharad Khuller: “This new partnership is Customer services and ease of booking remains a big priority for KLM,Our partnership with M-PESA is another step in this endeavour to provide our customers another option to pay for tickets at their convenience .”

This new partnership is part of Vodacom Tanzania’s long-term objective of making life better for their customers through its various innovative services including the mobile money platform. With such innovations, the company aims to simplify day-to-day operations of their customers.

Now the corporate entity can benefit from electronic payments systems offered by M-Pesa” said Gregory Verbond, Vodacom Tanzania Chief Officer Enterprise Business Unit.

To access this service, a customer will dial 150 00#, select option 4 (pay with M-Pesa), then select 3, choose business then select 9, thereafter select 3 travel and finally select KLM.
