KENYA:Kopo Kopo Launches ‘Payments Hub’ Bulk Payment Service

Kopo Kopo, the world’s leading provider of mobile money merchant software, has launched a bulk payment service that enables organizations in Kenya to schedule and send tens, hundreds, or thousands of payments in minutes. The service, dubbed “Payments Hub,” is immediately available to corporations, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and small and medium enterprise (SMEs) operating in Kenya.

“We built Payments Hub because paying people should be simple – almost instant,” said Kopo Kopo CEO Dylan Higgins. “We built Payments Hub to make paying suppliers and employees simpler for ourselves, now we’re making it available for the rest of Kenya.”

Payments Hub is ideal for:

  • Salary payments
  • Supplier payments
  • Expense reimbursements, and
  • Many other uses…

“Many of our customers have been looking for something like this for years,” said Higgins. “Too many would spend countless hours each month manually processing payments. Just imagine yourself issuing one hundred checks by hand… with Payments Hub, it takes a few keystrokes.”

Payments Hub payments are debited from a customer’s Kopo Kopo account and credited to recipients via mobile money or bank transfer. Payments Hub fees are tiered by volume (the more you pay, the less the fee per payment). Organizations that wish to integrate Payments Hub with a back-office system may be charged a custom integration fee assessed on an individual basis.
