East Africa: Airtel Customers to Pay for Nairobi Parking With Airtel Money

Airtel recently partnered with Jambo Pay and Nairobi City County to introduce a payment option for parking fees via the Airtel Money platform.

Customers can alternatively download the Nairobi City County App on Google Play from an Android Mobile phone, or access through the internet via the Nairobi City web portal: https://epayments.nairobi.go.ke on their mobile phones.

Airtel Money currently has more than 1500 agents in Nairobi. The vast dealer network has now been complimented by corporate agents to enhance availability and reliability of the services countrywide.

These include Uchumi Supermarkets, Pep Intermedius (Nakumatt), Tuskys, Ukwala, Post offices, Muramati Sacco, Family Bank branches, Housing Finance, Cooperative Bank and Faulu Bank.

 
 

In order to access this service, customers need to follow the below process;

Step 1; create parking wallet by following the following instructions; Dial *217#, enter your first name, enter your second name, enter your ID Number, enter your year of birth, create Pin and confirm new pin.

Step 2; topping up the parking wallet, can be done by following these instructions; Go to Airtel money on your phone, select pay bill, enter Business name 147147, enter your account number; your phone number eg 0733123456 and enter your pin then send the money.

The partnership with Jambo Pay follows recent partnership with the Kenya Airports Parking Services (KAPS) which enables Airtel customers pay for their parking fees quickly and conveniently using Airtel Money, skipping long queues at malls and parking-bay areas.
