As of December 2014, there were over 18 million registered mobile money users in Uganda. But what happens when a user dies without retrieving their money?

Parliament is asking government to set up a Trust Fund where unclaimed mobile money deposits will be banked and monitored.

This call was made during an interface by the Parliamentary ICT Committee with Governor Bank of Uganda Tumusiime Mutebile and officials from Uganda Communications Commission, the regulators of the telecom sector.
