Touch4pay is a Zambian company whose aim is to professionally engage in the integration of instant payments (IPSS) and self- service payment cash-in kiosks (Terminals) into the real sector of the Southern African Region.

Touch4Pay recently joined hands with AIRTEL  Zambia to introduce the first ever self-service payment terminal for Airtel Zambia services such as Airtel Mobile Money and Mobile phone top –ups.  Customers can now make mobile money cash deposits directly into their mobile money wallets by inserting cash into the terminal and receiving their e-value instantly. This will assist in increasing the mobile money footprint in Zambia as well as encourage customers to use mobile money services through a more convenient, easy to use model.

Touch4pay were able to showcase the terminals in July at the Zambia International Trade Fair which had the theme ‘Showcasing 50 years of business transformation’.  Potential customers, partners and agents were therefore able to view and use the terminals at the show which clearly impressed the judges leading to Airtel winning first prize in the ICT sector.

Touch4Pay together with AIRTEL also took part in the 88th Agricultural and Commercial show held in Lusaka this August and AIRTEL won the prize for ‘Best private sector business’.

The response from the two shows indicates great potential for this kind of business in Africa and the willingness of customers to try something new and innovative shows that Africa is in fact ready for change. The need for improved financial inclusion in this economy indicates that solutions such as these can be extremely valuable.  Touch4Pay therefore continues to do its best to ensure that our technology leaves no one out of reach.
