MTN Ghana to phase out scratch cards June 30
MTN Ghana has announced that it will phase out the use of scratch cards by June 30, 2024. This move is part of the company's strategy to promote digital solutions and support the Government of Ghana's digitalization agenda. After June 30, unused scratch cards will no longer be rechargeable. Customers with remaining balances on their cards can redeem them via Credit transfer (EVD) at any MTN Customer Experience Centre.
MTN encourages its customers to utilize digital channels such as Mobile Money (MoMo), Ayoba, and the myMTN app for recharges. To incentivize this shift, MTN is offering bonuses on all recharges made through MoMo.
This decision aligns with MTN's commitment to environmental sustainability, as it aims to reduce waste and enhance customer service efficiency. Samuel Addo, MTN Ghana’s Chief Sales and Distribution Officer, emphasized that this initiative is a step towards a cleaner environment and better service delivery.
