MICROENSURE WINS KALAHARI AWARD 2015

At the recent 2015 Kalahari Awards, MicroEnsure collected the “Best Low Income Group Product” which recognises all mobile financial service products across Africa.

This award is testament to the  phenomenal hard work that’s been put in over the last 12-18 months by the entire MicroEnsure team.

“We don’t do what we do to earn rewards, but this recognition confirms that we are making a difference.

I think of the student in Nigeria who wouldn’t have been able to pay his fees after a motorcycle accident last year, but was able to continue his education because of us; or the teacher in Ghana who’s become an unofficial ambassador of our product after we surprised him with a claim in two hours.

These results come from our work as a team across the world - a team of which I’m very honoured to be a part.” Peter Gross, Regional Director Africa

Throughout 2015, MicroEnsure has the opportunity to win some additional silverware as we’ve also been nominated for a number of other industry awards, both in the UK and globally.

“The fact is that this award is just the first of a number of shortlists we appear in this year, with other nominations including:

  • Wall St. Journal - “Financial Inclusion Challenge

  • ”FT/IFC – “Achievement in Inclusive Business”

  • Mondato – “Mobile Finance & Commerce (MFC) Innovation Award”

  • British Insurance Awards – “Insurance Broker of the Year - Large Corporate, International & London market”

  • African Insurance Awards - "Innovation of the year"

These nominations demonstrate the fantastic level of hard work of a truly committed team and it’s wonderful to be able to tell the world that MicroEnsure really does make a huge difference to those people who need it most.”  Richard Leftley, CEO
