CAMEROON: WorldRemit positions Banque Atlantique on the digital money transfer market
WorldRemit, a British firm operating in the new technologies sector, and presented as the world leader in digital money transfer, announced on 6 September 2016 having signed with Banque Atlantique group, a partnership to enable its clients to instantly transfer money to Cameroon.
In other words, the beneficiaries of the money transfers made via the WorldRemit application or website can now withdraw the funds thus transferred through any branch of the Banque Atlantique Cameroun network. “Thanks to us, sending money is now as easy and quick as sending an instant message”, highlighted Ismail Ahmed, founder and CEO of WorldRemit.
Contrary to other money transfers operators such as Western Union and MoneyGram, with WorldRemit the sender does not necessarily need to go to a branch to carry out his transaction. They can do it directly, on their own, through the application or dedicated website.
In parallel, we learn, a range of possibilities is also on offer to the beneficiary, who can choose to receive the transferred funds either through bank transfer, in cash, or through their mobile money account.
Officially, the British firm WorldRemit registers on a monthly basis over 450,000 money transfers worldwide. This service is available in about fifty countries and serves over 125 destinations, including Cameroon now.
