WITH only 10 days left before the Tanzania Communication Regulatory Authority (TCRA) halts analog broadcasts, Vodacom Tanzania has introduced M-Pesa for purchase of decoder bundles.
"Technological developments have made our lives easy. It is the responsibility to ensure that we adapt to these developments.
With Tanzanians being held up by responsibilities, both personal and professional, M-Pesa will definitely be an option for them when it comes to payment of bills," says Vodacom Managing Director, Mr Rene Meza. He added:
"That is why we have made sure that the service serves all their needs." Mr Meza says that it is necessary for Tanzanians to pay for decoder bundles through M-Pesa in order to save time since the service is fast and safe. In order to pay for decoder bundles, our customers need to dial *150*00# and select 4 on the menu.
They will then select 1, then load the decoder number, after which they shall select the kind of payment to make and put the PIN. To confirm, they will dial 1," explains Meza. So far, TCRA has given a go ahead to companies offering digital services, among them Star Media and Agape Associate Limited, all of whom have already partnered with Vodacom to enable payments through M-Pesa.
