MTN Zambia has recorded transactions involving K100-billion via the MTN mobile money service transfer this year.
Company chief marketing officer Philip Besiimire said K100 billion has been transacted since the firm acquired its full operational license this year from the Bank of Zambia (BoZ).
Mr Besiimira said currently the company has about 400 mobile money agents across the country and that about 30 per cent of the clients transacted using the service on a monthly basis.
“We have seen good response from our customers from the time we launched this product service and I am happy to say that over K100 billion has been transacted using the service this year alone,” he said.
Mr Besiimira noted that the company had registered positive increase among its customers who are up signing up for for the service.
He said this in his presentation to the parliamentary committee on Communication, Transport, Works and Supply in Lusaka, last week.
